About Teddybear News: Everything started with a teddybear from Emmy Krienitz, a German teddy artist from Munich. My parents bought him in March 1999 and to make it short - it was just the beginning of a wonderful human-teddy-relationship and many other bears followed to enlarge our collection of new friends. There was no chance to escape: the famous teddybear virus also made sure that I started making bears myself about six months later. Today our collection consists of more than sixty teddybears: hand-made by myself, presents from friends, souvenirs from teddy events and collectibles from German manufactories such as Steiff and Teddy-Hermann.   Bear making and collecting has become the most wonderful thing in the world for me and I can't imagine any thing better. Teddybears are a very important part of my life and I will never ever do without their company again. The next relevant step was the realization of the German Online magazine "Kuscheltier News", which started in August 2005. It is a magazine for all plush toy and teddybear fans, collectors and teddy artists, offering various information such as artist portraets, competitions, free patterns, historical teddybears, picture galleries and advertisements. In the meantime many German speaking teddybear makers and artists from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other countries have become loyal readers and many of them even have become good friends, who support our editorial staff with a lot of dedication. Not least because of our association with teddy artists from all over the world, we did not get rid of the idea, that there should also be an English version of our Online magazine, with an emphasis on teddy bears rather than plush toys in general. Since our German magazine has a very comprehensive archive with about two new topics each week, it will be a long-term project to realize an English version comparable to the German one. It is our hope and our wish to achieve and support worldwide contacts and exchange among collectors, teddy friends and teddy artists by using all possibilities of the internet. The online world is without limits and is especially a great opportunity for all those people, living in countries where no or just a small local teddybear scene exists, to make friends and to find people, who love teddybears as much as they do.
