Bear makers and teddy artists are always welcome to contact us for a portrait. We're looking forward to hearing from you.
local fabric store and pulled it out one day and decided to give it a try. I didn't really start my business on the Internet until the year 2000. This is when I truly became able to work all the time on my teddy bears and offer them worldwide. Do you recollect the first teddy that you made yourself? My first teddy was made from fabric not fur. He was nothing like what I offer now. He was tea stained and had buttons to hold his attached arms and legs to his body. I designed him to be old looking as if he were an antique or heirloom teddy.
How do you get ideas or inspiration for new bears? I spend a lot of nights in bed thinking or dreaming of ideas. You wouldn't believe what goes through my mind when I'm on a mind rush of having ideas going through my head. I get so excited sometimes that I leap from my sleep and start designing what I have thought or envisioned during my sleep. I tell people that God has given me a special gift to be able to come up with my ideas and create them. What do like most when making bears? My favourite thing when making bears is doing the sculpting of the face. I can't wait until I finish the face to see who the new teddy bear is going to be or look like.
Do you have a personal great dream regarding the bear making? My dream is to be able to send whoever adopts or has adopted a friend for life in my art work through my bears.
Is there a teddy bear scene where you live (regular fairs, competitions, magazines)? Tennessee isn't a place for any fairs, competitions or magazines that relate to teddy bears. I have to go to other states to participate in any of these events. My Internet business is the only thing I'm doing at the moment which keeps me pretty busy.
